Cortland Humanitarian Outreach Worldwide

is another active ministry under the umbrella of our local Lakeview Outreach and Fellowship (L.O.A.F.). The various mission with C.H.O.W. consist of extending educational kits to Potter’s Wheel which seeks to assist mis-placed women to get back on their feet and into society in a positive way. C.H.O.W. also collects food, clothing, house-hold items and books that are distributed twice a year to an Appalachian community in Grahn, KY. C.H.O.W.’s major efforts are collecting new and used school supplies, school equipment such as desks and chairs, then sends them to schools in Central and South America via our military. In most cases, these items are thrown in landfills in our own country so you can say that C.H.O.W. supports recycling in a bit of a different way. Since, C.H.O.W.’s inception in June 1999 there has been over 3,500 desks and chairs saved from our area landfills and transported to areas where children are eager to learn and no longer have to share a desk or sit on the floor to receive their education.
